I think you've made a good start with the article, particularly the pruning and whacking of excess information. It already looks better. Joyous | Talk 21:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Coincidence
Cool! :) Yeah, I do a lot of disambig cleanup, as it is seriously needed on many articles and I also try to help out AID whenever I can. You edits to Homer are great. I honestly think the article should be rewritten from scratch by some Simpson fan with citations to its episodes in a reference section. I'm surprised there aren't more interested editors though. :( Anyway, keep up the good work. GfloresTalk 00:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I was wondering if you could drop by and give this article another look. I noticed that you recently made some changes to image placement in the article but they were reverted by User:WAS 4.250. I also tried to make some changes and was promptly reverted by him. I was wondering if you could take a look at the talk page and then at my version and see if there is a version you agree with or if there are any modifications that you would find beneficial. Thanks. --Hetar 03:12, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Substrate
J., I don't know exactly you think I did wrong on the substrate (disambig) page? You will have to give me an example.--Sadi Carnot 03:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 07:15, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks! (RC patrol useboxes)
Thanks for figuring out how to format that page! I had a hunch that tables would be the answer, but I've only used those once before and I'm not very familiar with them seeing as I did little more than just copying and pasting someone else's punnett square table. That, and I needed sleep too much to keep experimenting, lol. I didn't actually make that userbox (though I considered making one before I found that one on someone else's userpage), so I can't take credit for that, but I'll take credit for thinking to put it on the RC patrol page. Thanks again for making it look good there! --Icarus 22:28, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for fixing that ref on the LACMTA article. That thing drove me nuts - I guess I should have copied it into Notepad or something to make sure that there weren't any line breaks. - Hbdragon88 04:43, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Your page is very complicated. Mine is very simple. I'm confused. DoorFrame 23:59, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Seeing that the sixth vote came a few minutes too late, I took the liberty of nominating the article to Wikipedia:Medicine_Collaboration_of_the_Week. I believe there it will have a better treatment. --Francisco Valverde 15:39, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Songs out of Context
I totally agree with you that some songs shouldn't be taken out of their spot inside of an album (I hate when my Ipod plays songs in a complete album out of order). You mentioned the Beatles Something about taking it out of Abbey Road, which for me isn't as much of a problem because the Beatles weren't truly album oriented, but had more singles instead. But what really bothers me is when it happens with concept albums like The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Quadrophenia, and In the Court of the Crimson King. So don't feel like your the only one that thinks that. I also just can't stand modern bands that sell singles. That really bugs me. Anyway, I'm glad for your input. [edit] Re-created image
Thanks for your interest in helping out. I think that different colors, fonts, and other details should make it acceptable as information can't be copyrighted. We want it to be considered a creative work and not a derivative work. Warmest regards --Neutralitytalk 22:07, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for putting the original article back, I did not have a saved version to do that. Ve3 07:53, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] About your apology
And I owe you one. I just noticed that you're a member of the Esperanza project. As such, I'll have to allow that your inquiry may have been occasioned by a genuine desire to be helpful. Didn't mean to stomp on you with both feet (sorry for that) -- just to let you know that your presumptions were way off the mark and not appreciated. But your good intentions are. Peace 2 u. deeceevoice 20:59, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

:) yes You are right, I like how it looks now. The only thing I could not figure out was how (if it is even possible) to make it work without putting "Main_Page". But I checked every Wiktionary I linked and there are working redirects, so it is also ok like this. Thanks for Your answer and effort, best regards --birdy (:> )=| 20:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mandelbrot set
I notice you placed a wikify tag on Mandelbrot set. Apart from the style issue that you mentioned in your edit comment, do you have any other specific reasons for tagging the article ? If so, perhaps you can list them on the article's talk page. Your concerns are much more likely to be addressed if other contributors can see exactly what they are. Thanks. Gandalf61 08:11, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- Haven't seen any response to the above request. Personally, I can't see why the article merits a wikify tag. Unless you can explain your concerns, I think I may just remove the tag. Gandalf61 09:04, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential! |

In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs. |
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas. |
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.

- In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
- The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
- Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
- Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
- Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
- There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

[edit] September Esperanza Newsletter
|
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors! |

Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.
Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
