J. Paul Getty Trust

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The J. Paul Getty Trust is the United States' wealthiest art institution with an estimated endowment of $5.8 billion. Based in Los Angeles, it operates two museums: the J. Paul Getty Museum in Brentwood and the Getty Villa in Malibu, California. Its major operations, aside from the museums, include the Getty Foundation, the Getty Research Institute, and the Getty Conservation Institute.

On December 4, 2006, the trust announced the hiring of art historian James N. Wood as the trust's new president and CEO, replacing Barry Munitz, who was forced to step down earlier in the year.
