Zwilling (Twin) J.A. Henckels is a knife maker based in Solingen, Germany.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels was founded in Solingen, Germany in 1731 and is celebrating its 275th anniversary in 2006. The Zwilling (TWIN) trademark is one of the world's oldest trademarks.Today, Henckels products are sold in over 100 countries worldwide. The company has introduced several innovations over the years which can be found in its products such as its exclusive high-carbon, no-stain steel, SIGMAFORGE manufacturing, and FRIODUR ice hardening for knives in its premium series.

The company has two distinct brands. The Zwilling J.A. Henckels brand is known as "The Premium Brand", with products that are mainly made in Germany (mostly high-end forged blades) or Spain (for mid-range knives, forged or stamped). J.A. Henckels International is "The Value Brand" division of Zwilling J.A. Henckels that produces less costly (mostly stamped-blade) knives, often made in China or Taiwan.

In addition to knives, Henckels makes poultry and craft scissors, kitchen gadgets, cookware and pocket and sporting knives.


Zwilling J.A. Henckels is also affiliated with Tweezerman, International.
