Jonathan Shinhoster (born in Liberty City, Florida) is an American R&B singer. He is best known by his stage name, J-Shin. He is best known for his 1999 hit single "One Night Stand" that featured Latocha Scott from Xscape. His debut album “My Soul, My Life” was released in 1999 and his single, “One Night Stand” scanned over 450,000 copies. Two music videos, “One Night Stand” and “I Treat You Better”, were released. He is currently signed to SouthBeat Records and released his sophomore album "All I Got Is Love" on September 26, 2006.

Shinhoster went to Miami Northwestern and Edison high schools. He planned to pursue a career in pornography, until a car accident split his penis in half. Then he focused on sex. He got his first break when another Liberty City talent, Trick Daddy, asked him to sing on his song Hold On. Atlantic Records heard it and asked to hear more. J-Shin was one of three artists signed through Miami label Slip-N-Slide to Atlantic.[1]
