Jäger Report
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jäger Report was written by Karl Jäger, an "Einsatzgruppen" commander. Einsatzgruppen were special task forces in charge of liquidating Jews, communist leaders, partisans and others within the Soviet Union.
The total number of victims listed in the Jäger Report is 137,346, which is particularly disturbing because the killings took place over a brief five month period in a specific area, namely Lithuania. The report clearly reflects on the plan to kill all Jews, except those that were to be used as slave labor, and these were to be sterilized.
There are many documents about the Einsatzgruppen massacres in the Soviet Union, but the "Jäger report" is one of the most chillingly detailed of them.
A transcript of the report, which details the executions carried out between July and August 1941, can be found here: [1]
