Izabella St. James (born Izabella Katarina Kasprzyk on September 25, 1975 in Kraków, Poland) is an writer, actress, attorney, and a former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner. Izabella is best known as the author of a memoir entitled Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy Mansion published August 21, 2006.

Izabella was born in the ancient royal city of Kraków in Poland, known for its architectural beauty and cultural heritage (although she herself, in all likelihood, is not of royal lineage.) While Izabella lived there, Poland was oppressed by Communism. When Izabella was ten years old her parents left the country in pursuit of freedom and a better way of life for their daughter. Izabella spent a year living in Athens, Greece, learning to speak Greek fluently and immersing herself in Greek culture.

Izabella’s family then moved to beautiful British Columbia, Canada. A year later they eventually settled in Ontario, Canada. Izabella lived in Kitchener–Waterloo for five years while she attended high school and graduated with an award for academic excellence. Missing the dynamic of a metropolitan city, Izabella moved to vibrant Montreal, Quebec, to attend McGill University. Dubbed the “Canadian Harvard” McGill is considered one of the top universities in the world. William Shatner of Star Trek is one of McGill’s famous alumni . Izabella started with a double major in Political Science and History but switched to a Humanistic Studies major to get a classic liberal arts education. The versatile major allowed her to study art history, classical music and literature and pursue her study of Spanish.

Izabella wanted to complete a traditionally prestigious education. She was accepted to Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California. She earned her Juris Doctor degree graduating a semester early having completed study abroad programs at Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain and at the Jagiellonian University in her native Poland.

It was during her three years at law school that she met Hugh Hefner and upon graduating from law school she began dating Hefner and moved into the Playboy Mansion. After spending two exciting years living at the Playboy Mansion Izabella moved out in May of 2004 to study for the Bar Exam.

But after achieving her academic goals Izabella decided to put her legal career on hold and devoted herself to les beaux arts she has always loved. Besides writing the memoir and modeling she is currently focused on her passion for the dramatic arts and dedicated to honing her acting skills.

Izabella lives in Los Angeles, she just finished shooting a feature film entitled Thunder Over Reno, and is currently writing a second book, a novel. She is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
