Itatiaia is a Brazilian municipal district of the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is located at latitude 22º29'46" South and longitude 44º33'48" West, at an altitude of 390 meters. Its population in 2004 was 35870 inhabitants. Its area is 225,54 km2.

The first Brazilian national park, Parque Nacional do Itatiaia (PNI), is located there.
