Israel Castro

Israel Castro (born 20 December 1980) is a Mexican football player.

He currently plays as a defender for Club Universidad Nacional, a Mexico City team commonly known as the Pumas. He joined the Pumas youh system and worked his way through the ranks to debut in 2002; he's a regular starter and played a very important role on the 2004 campaign of the team, when Pumas one consecutive league championships. Fans also call him the "Asesino de galácticos" or "Murderer of Galactics", since he was the lone scorer in the game were Pumas defeated Real Madrid and won the Santiago Bernabeú trophy.
