Isobutyl nitrite is an alkyl nitrite, an ester of isobutyl alcohol and nitrous acid. Its chemical structure is (CH3)2CH-CH2-O-NO.

Isobutyl nitrite is a pungent colorless liquid. It acts as a vasodilator, and is used as an inhalant recreational drug.

Isobutyl nitrite is primarily used as a recreational drug to enhance sexual pleasure. It is a member of a class of drugs called alkyl nitrites. These drugs are known on the street as poppers, snappers, and whippets.
