Ismah

Ismah is the concept of infallibility in Islam. The word literally means "protection." Muslims believe that the prophet Muhammad and the prophets that preceded him possessed ismah. Shi'a Muslims also attribute the quality to Shi'a Imams as well as to the daughter of the prophet Muhammad, Fatima Zahra.
