Ishikari, Hokkaidō

Ishikari (Japanese: 石狩市; -shi, Ainu: Iskarun) is a city located in Ishikari Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan.
The city was born out of Ishikari Town on September 1, 1996.
On October 1, 2005, the villages of Atsuta from Atsuta District and Hamamasu from Hamamasu District merged into the city of Ishikari.
As of December 2005, the city has an estimated population of 61,452 and a density of 85 persons per km². The total area is 721.86 km².
