Isham
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Isham is a village in Northamptonshire, England. It is situated on the A509 road, three miles south of Kettering and a mile to the west of Burton Latimer. The River Ise is to the east of the village.
The village has a shop, a church (St Peter's) and a small Church of England Primary School. There is a Cricket club on the outskirts of the village. Isham's two pubs are called the Monk & Minstrel and the Lilacs Inn.
The village is also home to a wild bird sanctuary called 'Safewings' which cares for injured birds [1]. A bypass is proposed.
HMS Isham was a Ham class minesweeper named after the village.
