Isenthalpic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Isenthalpic is a concept in thermodynamics. An isenthalpic process is any process that conserves enthalpy which means that the process occurs at constant enthalpy.
An example of an isenthalpic process is an adiabatic mixing bath. Hot water at pressure A mixes with cold water at pressure B and flows out at pressure C. There is no work except pushing the fluid in and out; nor is there heat transfer. Thus, enthalpy is preserved.
In practical applications, there will be no work and no heat transfer in isenthalpic processes.
