Isane Kotetsu (虎徹 勇音 Kotetsu Isane?) is a character from the anime and manga series Bleach. She is the lieutenant of the 4th Division in Gotei 13 (the medical and supply relief division), under Captain Retsu Unohana.

Isane wears her silver-purple hair short with a few long strands with beads. She also wears the standard shinigami uniform.
She appears to be adept at kidō (demon arts) since she was able to track and inform all seated shinigami and the drifters (Ichigo and his company) about the location of Sōsuke Aizen when she and Retsu Unohana learned of his treachery. She used these kidō techniques while Unohana healed Captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Lieutenant Momo Hinamori. It is also possible that she is the second best healer in Soul Society given her rank as lieutenant in the 4th Division.
She is the older sister of Kiyone Kotetsu, one of the two third seats in the 13th division. Unlike Kiyone, she is generally quiet and observant, though she shares her sister's sense of loyalty. She looks to Unohana as a mentor and mother figure.
It is noted by Unohana that Isane suffers from frequent recurring nightmares. This sometimes used as material for jokes, as Isane's nightmares are often odd or whimsical in their contents. For example, she once had a nightmare involving fish cakes.

Isane's zanpakutō, Itegumo (凍雲, lit. Frozen Cloud), splits into three blades resembling an open scissor katar (albeit with a zanpakutō hilt), upon the command hashire (奔れ, dash!, freeze rapidly!, or sprint!).
Nothing else is known about Itegumo at this point, as Ichigo defeated Isane quickly, along with 2nd Division Lieutenant Marechiyo Ōmaeda and the 1st Division lieutenant Chōjirō Sasakibe. It is implied that it is a water or ice-based zanpakutō.
