Isabella of Castile, Duchess of York

Isabella of Castile, Duchess of York (c. 1355 – December 23, 1392) was a daughter of King Pedro of Castile and María de Padilla. She was a younger sister of Constance of Castille.

In 1372, Isabella married Edmund of Langley, 1st Duke of York, fourth son of Edward III of England and Philippa of Hainault. As a result of her marriage, she became the first of a total of eleven women who became (as a courtesy by marriage to their husbands Duchess of York. They had three children:

She was named a Lady Companion of the Order of the Garter in 1378. On 14 January 1393 she was buried in Kings Langley Manor House in Hertfordshire, England.
