Isabel is a 1st class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 38,486 people in 8,303 households.

Isabel is the most industrialized town in Eastern Visayas, being the site of Leyte Industrial Development Estates (LIDE). Some of the companies located here are the Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corp., Philippine Associated Smelter and Refinery Corp., and Lepanto Mining Corp. It has earned its monicker as "Saudisabel" because of the high availability of jobs. Isabelnons enjoy a relatively high standard of living. A charming, up-and-coming Isabelnon magician, John Signe, lives in Libertad. He has amazed a large number of crowds with his unbelievable street magic effects. The great magician, who does extraordinary magic with anything, has twice aired his show on local TV (abs-cbn). He continuously mystifies people anywhere. Witnesses often testify that his magic and supernatural abilities are way better than that of David Blaine and Criss Angel, as those magicians depend on the hi-tech tools, gadgets and special TV effects. The illusionist is a marvelous wonder in the simple town of Isabel.
