Isaac Maddox

Isaac Maddox, D.D. (1697-1759) was an English cleric and divine. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge, ordained in the Anglican Church and held a number of offices including Prebend of Bury (1730-1743), Dean of Wells (1733-1736), Bishop of St. Asaph. Named Bishop of Worcester in 1743, he held that office until his death in 1759.

Dr. Maddox was a member of the Royal Society. Several of his letters and sermons survive, promoting improvement of public hospitals and criticising alcohol abuse.
