Ira Flagstead

Ira James Flagstead (September 22, 1893March 13, 1940) was an outfielder in Major League Baseball. He played thirteen seasons in the American and National League with the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was born in Montague, Michigan.

Flagstead batted .331 in his first full season with the Tigers in 1919. During the 1923 season, he was moved to the Red Sox, where he played for seven seasons and set career highs in hits (172), RBI (69), home runs (8), and walks (77). In 1,218 career games, Flagstead batted .290 with 40 home runs and 71 stolen bases.
