AR RAMADI, Iraq (May 13, 2006) – Lance Cpl. Jason C. Gearheaer, infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, scans the street while providing security in an abandoned building during a 24 hour operation. The objective of this mission is to stop insurgent freedom of movement. The regiment is currently deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. Gearheaer is attached to the 1st Squad, 1st Platoon of K Company.
