[edit] POV

This article consists entirely of criticism, and lacks the most basic kind of information you would expect to find in an encyclopaedia (early life; education; previous career; when appointed to the MCB; and so on). The third paragraph gives the erroneous impression that the MCB had something to do with his remarks about The Satanic Verses. The only thing that unites the arbitrary selection of facts in the first few paragraphs is that, in the opinion of the writers, they invite disapproval. None of those facts are irrelevant, of course, and I don't suggest they be removed. But they need to be put into a coherent arrangement, and they need to form part of a larger article discussing Sacranie's career and politics. As things stand they amount to a charge sheet. Hmm - have to agree! I have tried editting it a bit (taking what's there, rather than adding much), but I agree it needs a bit more filling as a Bio page. Will do some research and see what I can find/be added. Rgds, - Trident13 10:10, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
I agree why don't you add some positive things he did / say ? Zeq 10:38, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

There is nothing in the article about Mr. Sacranie's early life and his origins. While he is a British Muslim, does anybody know what his ethnic background is? Did he grow up in India/Pakistan before migrating or is he a British convert to Islam? The name Sacranie is not a common Indian/Pakistani name.

I have just balanced this article a bit and removed some unsourced claims. Oliverkroll 01:33, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

He is East Indian, and his family comes from East African migrants who came there on the heels of British colonization.
Malawi is his birthplace. Ruthfulbarbarity 02:21, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
