Iqbal Town (Urdu: اقبال ٹاؤن) (also known as Allama Iqbal Town; Urdu: علامہ اقبال ٹاؤن ) is a commercial and residential locality in the south-western portion of Lahore, Pakistan. It is named after Allama Iqbal, the national poet of Pakistan. Development was started in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was previously famed for its name in Urdu, 'Sola Soo Acre' (meaning 1600 acres), due to its area. Its extent is marked by Multan Road to the west and north, and by Wahdet Road to the south.
One of its distinguishing features is that it has been a home to prevailing middle class in Lahore. Because the Shahnoor and Bari studios are situated very close to the area, many film actors and actresses used to live here in the past. However, most of them have now entered into the elite class and have therefore moved to the posh areas.
Neighbouring localities are Wahdet Coloney, Ichhra, Samanabad, Garden Town, Sabzazaar and Said Pur.
Major markets (broadways) are Karim Market (adjacent to Umer Block and Karim Block) and Moon Market.
In Allama Iqbal Town, as throughout Lahore, Lahoris make their lively taste evident. Kite flying, music shows, and major feasts are famous here.
