Iqbal (Hindi: इक़बाल, Urdu: اقبال) is a 2005 Hindi/Urdu Bollywood film written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and is released under Subhash Ghai's new banner.
[edit] Plot synopsis
Iqbal tells the story of a boy named Iqbal who is hearing impaired and has a speech disorder. Iqbal dreams of being a member of the Indian cricket team but is discouraged by his father who thinks that Iqbal's daydreams are a waste of time. Iqbal's sister, however, helps him try out for an academy which eventually accepts him. But when Iqbal has a fight with a rich boy he is thrown out of the academy. Iqbal seeks help from a drifter, Mohit (once a great cricketer) who trains him for the national team.
