Talk:IPSC (Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is highly contentious to say that this group is committed to a just peace in the Middle East. It chooses entirely to ignore and/or reject Israel's point of view. For this reason, it can only be regarded as a propaganda lobby. It would seem to be working towards the delegitimisation and ultimately the destruction of the state of Israel. Moreover, it and other groups like it have had the effect of contributing significantly to the creation of a hostile climate for Jews, who naturally support Israel, in Ireland. This in turn is draining Ireland of its Jewish population. It may also be that recent anti-semitic acts in Ireland, such as cemetery desecrations, which have never happened in previous eras, are the indirect result of this organisation's activities.
The page notes that the IPSC has the following aims: =To foster links between Palestinian and Irish institutions and organisations in the area of health, education and the global economy. =To promote Palestinian culture, including literature, music and arts in Ireland. Can anyone point me to anything the IPSC has actually done to further those aims? I've certainly seen them protesting at Israeli cultural events, but I've never seen them promote a Palestinian one.
