Iordache (Iordakis) Olimpiotul

Iordache Olimpiotul, also known as Iordakis/Iordaki Olimbiotti (d. 1821), a man of disputed origin (Greek or Aromanian), was a fighter on the side of the Philikí Etaireía.
Active in Wallachia and Moldavia, originally as a captain in the Princely guard in Bucharest, and charged with command of troops on the side of the Pandurs, he contributed to Tudor Vladimirescu's arrest. After the Ottoman intervention, he followed Iannis Pharmakis to Moldavia, being killed either in a last stand or in Turkish captivity.
Several Romanian sources and comments have turned Iordache's image into that of a Judas Iscariot. However, the Eterists were weary of Tudor's commitment to their goals, and Vladimirescu considered himself in a loose association with them by the time of the conflict.
