[edit] Title

I'm wondering if "ion laser" is the best title for this article. It's not very specific. The article seems to deal with argon-ion and krypton-ion lasers. Perhaps a better title would be "noble gas ion laser" or just "noble ion laser". Any thoughts on this?--Srleffler 00:14, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

These lasers are commonly refered to as ion lasers, so I think the title is quite justified. There is an article, List of laser types, which lists the major types of lasers. On that list, the only other laser that would fit under the "ion laser" heading is the xenon ion laser, which is also a noble gas ion laser. Since there are no ion lasers that are not noble gas ion lasers, such a change does not seem justified.Az7997 20:04, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
