Ion Heliade Rădulescu

Ion Heliade Rădulescu (January 6, 1802- April 27, 1872) was a Wallachian Romanian academic, Romantic poet, essayist, memoirist, short story writer, newspaper editor, prolific translator of foreign literature into Romanian, nationalist politician, and teacher at the Saint Sava College in Bucharest. He is considered one of the foremost representatives of Romanian culture during the first half of the 19th century.
