Talk:Internet child modeling
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Risks section is full of original research. Look at:
- Child modeling photos could be used to groom other children for abuse.
- Photos of child models could encourage pedophiles to seek out the child models themselves, stalk them, and sexually assault them.
and no references anywhere. Skinnyweed 21:41, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

- While I think the author of the above comment is being unfair (there were at least six sources listed in the article) I went back to see what was still visible and on-line. I can't find any comments about grooming. However it was clear from H.R. 1142 that the sponsors believe the sites cater to pedophiles, and that places the children at risk. I'll rewrite the entry to say so. Pat Lee 18:42, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

- I'm removing the following, since I can't find documentation to support it:
"It is also a fact that 99% of Internet models do not go by their real names."
-
- I added a different (supported) statement based on Lil Amber news reports - about it being a pseudonym. Pat Lee 18:43, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

- Could someone please tell me how this statement is justified :
- the photographers hired neighborhood children to serve as models by telling them and their parents that the photographs were intended for fashion advertisements. In fact, the photographers' web sites generally made enough money so that other customers for the photographs were unnecessary.
There are no sources sited for this, therefore I am removing this until there is conclusive evidence.
