Do not merge this with Services for Unix (SFU). The Service for Unix product is EOL -- there is no followup release. Interix is one of the components of SFU and is continuing as it is bundled with the OS. That's what's actually mentioned in the article. It's part Windows 2003/R2 and is also part of Vista (RTM'ing in a couple weeks). While SFU will, by virtue of hitting EOL, be in a freeze, Interix will not. Additional functionality continues to be added by Microsoft.
