Interstate 43 (abbreviated I-43) is an intrastate interstate highway located entirely within the state of Wisconsin, United States. Its southern terminus is at an intersection with Interstate 39 and Interstate 90 in Beloit, Wisconsin; its northern terminus is in Green Bay, Wisconsin at an intersection with U.S. Highway 41.
I-43 north of Milwaukee was originally planned as a northern section of Interstate 57; it would not have run concurrently with Interstate 94 in between.

[edit] History
The highway route that is now I-43 existed for several years prior to its designation as an Interstate highway. The section from its southern terminus to its intersection with I-894 in Milwaukee was originally designated Wisconsin STH-15. [1] The section running from Interstate 94 and Interstate 794 in Milwaukee to the northern terminus was originally designated US 141.
