Interstate 174 (abbreviated I-174) is a proposed 3-digit interstate highway route in Horry County, South Carolina that may connect Future Interstate 74 (SC 31 - Carolina Bays Parkway) to North Myrtle Beach near Main Street. The highway would be a spur of Interstate 74 if I-74 is not diverted to Wilmington, NC. The project, commonly referred to as the North Myrtle Beach Connector, is awaiting approval from the South Carolina General Assembly (House of Representatives Bill H.3462/Senate Bill S.0291). Presently, government officials in the Myrtle Beach Area are debating over land acquisition needed for the new 3-digit interstate's construction.
