From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Internets may refer to:
- Internet, the global network commonly referred to as The Internet
- Internet2, a consortium of educational institutions in the United States and Europe, key in development of a high bandwidth network, Abilene Network. Colloquially, "Internet2" or "I2" may refer to the Abilene Network itself.
- Private internets — Wide area networks consisting of multiple local-area networks either not using Internet Protocol or using private IP address space. The latter are called "private internets" in RFC 1918. See also internetworking.
- Internets (colloquialism), term used to denote ignorance of the Internet or technology in general; inadvertently popularized by U.S. President George W. Bush's comment during a 2004 Presidential election debate with John Kerry.
