International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO)

International Islamic Relief Organization, Saudi Arabia as an affiliate of the Muslim World League was founded in Mecca during on 29 October 1978 and subsequently received the Royal Assent through Commissioner No. 4734 in 1399 AH January 29, 1979. Its global organizational performance cooperates to make contributions to the fellow needy and afflicted in the world for relief and lift their suffering and the development of their communities.

Commission seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1. Work to help refugees and the needy victims of disasters and famine in various parts of the world and provide relief to those affected by them.
2. contribute to the development of the Muslim communities in the various aspects of civilization.
3. Gain the confidence of donors and supporters.
4. Care influential elite in the Muslim communities.
5. Care special needs of education and rehabilitation.
6. Hailed the spirit of volunteerism and self-reliance in Muslim societies.
7. Cooperation and coordination with associations and institutions and bodies of similar targets inside and outside the state headquarters.

Take the body in order to achieve their goals by any means not incompatible with the Islamic Shariah, and in particular the following:

1. Received his goodness of the people in authority and businessmen and citizens of the high motivation of the voluntary side urged Muslims to volunteer effort and donated money.
2. Providing relief and assistance to the needy and injured people from calamities and disasters at the various levels of advocacy, relief, social, health and development, including the construction of mosques and schools.
3. Establishment of hospitals and clinics in needy communities to do so, management and development.
4. Ensure orphans and the establishment of the role and social centers and manage them.
5. Creation projects and programs that help the body to develop their resources and achieve their goals.

There are the three organs of leadership:

It consists of one hundred and eighty-eight members of the owners of forgiveness and virtue scholars and preachers and officials in some of the governmental and private sectors, businessmen and supporters of the programs of individuals and institutions within and outside the Kingdom. And officials of the Secretariat department offices and some local and foreign. It is held every two years and its chairman is the general secretary of the Association of the Islamic world.

The Council consists of twenty-four members and is the administrative and financial authority of the body and its decisions are binding for the Secretariat and the organs of the Authority and its local and foreign. It is chaired by the President of the General Assembly. The EIB Governing Council adopts plans for projects and programs provided by the Secretariat of the Commission. And assessing the performance of the Secretariat and its branches and offices inside and outside the Kingdom. The ratification of the auditor's report on the balance sheet and the final accounts for the financial year ended and comments. The estimated annual budget approval, the issuance of the financial and administrative regulations of the Commission, The adoption resource development plans and investment funds. 1. • Examination and the final account and to prepare a report containing what it said especially with regard to the expenses and revenues, advances and the secretariats.
• Raising periodic reports on the financial performance and accounting of the body.

• In 2005, IIRO provided a number of relief packages for 2004 tsunami and earthquake victims in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Thailand
• IIRO also provided assistance to the victims of 2005 earthquake in the affected areas and regions of Pakistan which were virtually isolated and inaccessible^[1]
