International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property

The International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property or AIPPI, an acronym for Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle in French, is a non-profit international organisation of intellectual property (IP) professionals, academics and owners of intellectual property. AIPPI was established in 1897 and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. It played an active role in the work which led to the successive revisions of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of 1883. It continues to play a major role in harmonising IP laws around the world.

The current President is Ron Myrick, from the USA and the Vice-President is Thierry Molét-Vieville, from France. The current Reporter General is Jochen Bühling, from Germany and the current Secretary General is Michael Brunner, from United Kingdom. The current Treasurer General is Eiji Katayama, from Japan.
