Intercontinental A

Intercontinental A, also known as ICA, is a kart racing class for top drivers aged 15 and up.
It uses 100cc water cooled two-stroke engines which must be approved by the CIK-FIA. Chassis must also be approved by the FIA. Minimum weight is 150 kg with driver.
It is is one of the highest kart classes and is run in both national and continental championships, with the most prestigious being the European championship and World Cup.
The Intercontinental A class (ICA) will be renamed KF2 in 2007 and will use a 125cc “long life” engine with starter and clutch instead of the current 100cc direct drive engine. These engines will have a rev. limiter, allowing no more than 15.000 rpm. KF2 will still use the 24 milimetre carburators.
