Intel740

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Intel740 (i740) was a graphics accelerator chipset made by Real3D, a division of Intel. At one time Intel aspired to become a major player in the discrete graphics card business, but competition from 3dfx, ATI, Matrox and NVIDIA, made Intel’s offerings look slow and poorly featured.

While Intel subsequently went on to become the world’s number one graphics company, Intel graphics parts are sold as integrated motherboard solutions, and are relatively low margin and performance.
