- Group and Categorize all en.wikipedia Image related categories (types, s.a. Maps, Images) the same way as on the Wikimedia Commons.
Not the best of names, but it means those templates 'names' (guts usually need modified some) which are shared/listed both on the commons and inside en.wikipedia. These are usually template's originating on en.wikipedia, and nearly always should each be listed (or it is so anticipated, prior to porting) on (unless are utility types (main, see also, further)) and have been ported to 'commons:Template:samename'.
However, any ported template which undergoes modifiction when ported between sister projects should be immediately listed here (and on the matching commons category) without doubt, pause, or hesitation by adding this category within the body of both template versions inside the 'noinclude' blocks within each template version.
The porting may have occurred from the commons to the encyclopedia as well, but such will be rare save for templates operating solely within image categories (maps, engravings, images, etcetera); and it should be noted, those so operating within categories to provide interconnection like the Navigational templates do for articles, are the true reason this category is being established in June 2006.
The modification fact tracking is a mere secondary, albeit important, compatible use.
