Talk:Insidious Big Brother Database

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not sure this article is qualified for deletion. Here's why.

By the same criteria you're using here, Gnus should also be considered for deletion, because except for a small number of people (probably most of whom are old-school hackers and the like), I doubt most people have heard of it. The BBDB is probably known by most of the people who know Gnus. So I would argue that they are about equally un-notable.

I don't really understand how Wikipedia defines "important." If a program is not widely used but is arguably superior to other programs of its kind, does that make it "important?" Bigpeteb 17:55, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I expanded the article so it explains what sets the BBDB apart from other contact managers like Outlook, Eudora, Gmail, etc. Hopefully this explains why it is "notable" and "important". Bigpeteb 18:31, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
