Instituto de Empresa is an international business school, based in Madrid. It was founded in 1973 as an independent not-for-profit private educational institution. Unlike some other Spanish schools at the time, it was established without religious ties. It was the first business school in Madrid to offer the MBA qualification, and is now the one of the largest business schools in the Iberian Peninsula. Its MBAs are accredited by EQUIS, the Association of MBAs and the AACSB.

The Dean of the school is Santiago Iniguez Del Onzono, an active participant in the World Economic Forum. Other notable members of staff include José Mario Álvarez de Novales, who holds a chair in business strategy, and Ignacio de la Vega, formerly General Director of Commerce, Foreign Promotion and Consumption at the Consejería de Economía y Empleo, Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, and now professor of entrepreneurship and strategic management.

The school has tended to encourage entrepreneurship in its students, who as a result spawned more than 350 firms in the decade 1995 - 2005.

The Instituto de Empresa ranks consistently among the worlds top Business Schools and offers one of the worlds very best Executive MBA programmes, ranked number 2 in Europe and number 4 in the world as ranked by the Financial Times Executive MBA Rankings .
