As it depends from the University, it has an admission process that lasts one year and it is composed by an admission course, which involves multiple exams in Mathemathics, History, Language and Geography. Almost all of its teaching staff, teachs in the UBA, and physichal education is performed at the Universidad de Buenos Aires campus, in Ciudad Universitaria. One of its main advantages is that there is no need to do the CBC (a public admission year to enter the uiversity), because it offers to its students the possibility of attending an extra 6th year, in the career they have chosen.

[edit] History
The Instituto libre de Segunda Enseñanza was founded in 1892 by a group of men of liberal spirit and with a high experience in superior education. Before, during and after its educational activities in the new school, they have occupied important Republic's positions, such as scientific, political and social.
Almost all of the men who composed the teaching staff of the Instituto Libre came from the historical Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires school, to which they resigned collectively like reaction to an arbitrary measure of the government which culminated with the distance of the Director. The facts happened like this: in a visit that carried out the Chief Inspector of the Ministry to the Nacional de Buenos Aires school, a small group of students had irreverent attitudes for him. Angered and outside himself, he compiled a report sending tremendous positions. It requested, among other things, the destitution of the Director, Adolfo Orma, a young person and Argentine intellectual. Twenty-four hours later the Executive authority decreed the destitution of Mr. Orma, naming temporarily the Inspector, with extraordinary faculties. Such injustice reached out the public opinion and was object of severe censorships by the most prestigious press of the country. The city lived revolutionary hours; the students went out and showed their displeasure in each part of the city. The reaction of the teaching staff, was unanimous: reunited in the house of Calixto Oyuela, another teacher, they analyzed the situation and sent their collective resignation to the Chief inspector. Later, Calixto Oyuela propossed to create a new school. After that, a new institution was born, free of official influences, judgements and national politic changes: it was the Instituto Libre de Segunda Enseñanza. To guarranty its autonomy, the school was put under the academic protection of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and also had the political support of two argentinian history founders: Bartolomé Mitre and Vicente Fidel López, who also gave classes. Finally, the 16th may of 1892, the Instituto Libre de Segunda Enseñanza opened its doors at Florida 756 street, with its first Director: Adolfo Orma.
[edit] Facilities
The school offers a wide variety of facilities that make possible a better educational quality.
It has 5 labs (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, [[Computation ]], and Arts ). There is a Library at the last floor, so students can either study there or take home almost any book they need. You can also find an orientation department, which gives assistance to the students, if they need it while they are attending any year, or when leaving the school, to help us find what career they would like to attend. Finally, the school offers a variety of art, study and science workshops and helps others with a poor educational or infrastructure levels, such as one located in Salta, and the one which is next to the institute, the Julio Argentino Roca, primary and public school.
