Institutionalized marks the official return of Ras Kass. Prior to the album, the west coast rap artist was incarcerated for fleeing from the law after a drunk driving case. Institutionalized is an official 19-track album/mixtape with all-new production. The disc shows Ras Kass on a much different style than his previous albums, and has him with a much improved flow. However, many of his fans were disappointed with the lyrical content of the album/mixtape.
