From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Institute of Mathematical Statistics is an international professional and scholarly society devoted to the development, dissemination, and application of statistics and probability. The Institute currently has about 4,000 members in all parts of the world.
Beginning in 2005, IMS started offering joint membership with the Bernoulli Society. The Institute of Mathematical Statistics along with the International Statistical Institute/Bernoulli Society are now also offering a joint membership. All ISI/BS/IMS memberships will be processed through the ISI/BS.
The IMS publishes five journals: Annals of Statistics, Annals of Applied Statistics, Annals of Probability, Annals of Applied Probability, and Statistical Science.
It also co-sponsors:
- ALEA - Latin American Journal of Probability and Mathematical Statistics
- Electronic Communications in Probability
- Electronic Journal of Probability
- Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics (A joint publication of the IMS, the American Statistical Association, and the Interface Foundation of North America)
- Probability Surveys (A joint publication of the IMS and International Statistical Institute (ISI)/Bernoulli Society)
