INSA Lyon is a comprehensive University of Science and Technology with post-baccalauréat (A-Levels) admission. The five-year curriculum aims at training engineers who possess humane qualities and are well versed in the primary areas of science and engineering. The last 3 years are spent specializing in one of these 12 fields:

  • Civil and Town Planning Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Energetics and Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering Design

The university is located on the Doua Campus, a large campus which encompasses many other mainly science-oriented schools. La Doua is located in northern Villeurbanne, which borders Lyon. The area borders a military cemetery and was formerly in use by the military.
