Insomnia was the second single released from British rock band Feeder's 1999 album "Yesterday Went Too Soon". It reached #22 in the UK charts and was at the time Feeder's 4th consecutive single to reach the Top 40.
The single was released with a few plays on MTV in the USA, with roughly one or two plays a day. It was released as a promo to US radio, but didn't chart due to a lack of promotion from their US label.
When the single charted in the UK, it was their biggest hit at the time and got them on the popular now defunct UK music show "Top Of The Pops". From there the bands awareness increased and the follow-up single "Yesterday Went Too Soon" cracked the top 20 and helped the album of the same name go top 10.
It also seen their only performance on TFI Friday which was before it's release, also a defunct TV show.
When Grant Nicholas was on Radio 1 being interviewed, he said Brilliant!, we're doing Top of The Pops. After all these years watching it, we're finally on it.
The video featured the band playing in the Chelsea Hotel in New York and a few other places, such as a tube train. The video was meant to be shot outside, but weather conditions changed plans.
