Inside Line is a free online car magazine published by Edmunds.com, Inc., the provider of automotive information such as True Market Value pricing.
Established in 2005, Inside Line delivers automotive content in the form of videos, photos, blogs, news articles, discussion boards and road tests. The site is updated every day and a large portion of its audience visits it daily to read the newest content, especially the road tests, news and future vehicle coverage that are the cornerstones of the brand.
Inside Line hosts the automotive industry’s largest collection of automotive photographs and online videos. Site visitors can pan, rotate and zoom in on exterior “360° spin” images and interior “360° panoramas” to see different angles and focus on details. Site visitors can also choose to view vehicles in any of the paint colors available from the automakers using vehicle colorization tools.
The Inside Line multimedia gallery also includes interactive vehicle tours (IVTs). In each IVT, users have the opportunity to view brief, informative videos about specific features; a longer video highlighting the vehicle's road test; fully interactive 360-degree virtual-surround interior images; 360-degree exterior spin images; the full photo gallery for the vehicle; and Edmunds.com's evaluations of the vehicle's power, performance and design. After selecting a vehicle, users of the IVT are invited to click on as many as 15 "hot spot" buttons that appear and flash at various locations on interior and exterior photos of that vehicle. For example, the Ford Mustang Coupe IVT features video clips about its spoiler, retroactive styling and 13 other unique assets, while the Nissan Titan IVT offers video clips about its towing ability, utility package and ten other features of interest.
