Inscape Design College

Inscape Design College, located in South Africa, is registered with the Department of Education as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act of 1997. inscape is one of the oldest privately-owned, multi disciplinary design colleges in South Africa, and is celebrating its 25th year of excistance in 2006. Inscape offers 3 year full time courses in both Interior Design and Graphic Design, as well as 10 month part-time certificate courses in Interior Decorating as well as Architectural Draughting and short courses of a week or less, full-time or part-time in AutoCAD - Dreamweaver - Flash - Illustrator - PhotoShop - InDesign - 3dStudio Max / Autodesk VIZ


Inscape's Design programmes are FULLY accredited by the Council on Higher Education. In their 2003 report, they praised us with: "The link with and involvement of industry experts in the design of the programme as well as in teaching is highly commendable... "The programme materials are impressively set up and cohere with the outcomes of the programmes. Good staff/learner ratios, and so are contact hours with students..."

In compliance with current legislation, we have now also applied for registration of our Further Education programme (Design Foundation).

Everyone knows that our small classes with individualised attention, contribute to the high standard of our students' work.

Inscape Design College believes that people perform best when they are happy. So our premises have been chosen for their homely atmosphere where even those with serious social lives enjoy learning.

Design students attend one or two lecture sessions each weekday. Sixteen to twenty hours a week is spent in unsupervised practical and research work.

Draughting and Decorating students attend two lecture sessions per week. Six to eight hours a week is spent in unsupervised practical and research work.
