The INS Mumbai (D62) is the third of the Delhi-class destroyers of the Indian Navy.
Mumbai was built in her namesake city Mumbai, launched in 1995, and commissioned in 2001. It was designed in India and built at the Mazagaon Docks Ltd, Mumbai.
The ship is on active service as of 2006.
In July of 2006, it was sent to Lebanon to assist in the evacuation of Indian nationals from Lebanon during the Israel-Lebanon conflict[2] under the code name Operation Sukoon.
