Ingrid Parewijck

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ingrid Parewijck is a Belgium-born model who made headlines in July 2004 when she was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens, New York City for possession of three bags of cocaine. She had one plastic package in her right front pants pocket and two more in her brown leather handbag, according to the criminal complaint (see [1]).

At the airport, Parewijck, a tall, thin blonde who has ben featured on the covers of Vogue, ELLE and Photo magazines, who was returning from France, was led off in handcuffs to spend most of the night in a holding cell, a far cry from her apartment in trendy Tribeca. However, shortly after she was released without bail by Judge Laura Ward.

Parewijck faced a sentence of at least 15 years, but was ordered to rehab and given no custodial sentence.

There were some complaints from advocacy groups about the lenient sentence meted out in comparison with the typical sentencing protocol (see [2]).

She was represented by Next Model Management at the time.
