An Infobox WikiProject may be used to summarise information about a WikiProject.

Note: Only "name" is required. All other attributes are optional.

  • name – is the name of the project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix
  • image – An image for the project. Given in the form of "example.jpg" (don't specifiy any size, caption, etc and don't prefix Image: on it).
  • caption – a descriptive sentence that describes the image. Something like "This WikiProject is about project topic."
  • shortcuts – If your project has any Shortcuts, list them here in the form [[WP:Shortcut]]. Multiple shortcuts can be listed.
  • portal – The name of an appopriate Portal for this project. Don't prefix 'Portal:' on the name.
  • portal_img – An icon to use in place of the puzzlepiece icon next to the portal link. Given in the form of "example.jpg" (don't specifiy any size, caption, etc and don't prefix Image: on it).
  • commons – The name of a category in the Wikimedia Commons that's appropriate to your topic.
  • parent – The name of the parent project for this project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix.
  • notice – The name of the project notice template you use for this project. Given with the a Template: prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
  • userbox – The name of the project participant userbox template you use for this project. Given with the a Template: prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
  • footnotes – Any additional freeform notes about your project.
