Talk:Infantophilia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From the article:

Infantophilia which is also called nepiophilia or infantilism is the sexual attraction to small children (0-5 years old).

The upper limit of 5 years seems rather high to me. Does this age correspond to developmental phase in childhood? IMHO the upper age limit should be that of a toddler (1-3 years old). However I hardly find useful references on Infantophilia. What is their percentage of all pedophiles? It seems to be quite rare. --Moon light shadow 08:57, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Moon light shadow, I don't have the particular source at hand right now, however I remember reading that there can be no talk of a percentage of nepiophiles among struturized paedophiles which by themselves are extremely rare in comparison to situational offenders. Even among or in comparison to extremely rare structurized paedophiles, the actual ratio of nepiophiles appears to be on a level of a thousandth part rather than a percentage level of a hundredth part. --TlatoSMD 15:00, 9 Jun 2006

This appears to be a simple definition. Why don't we just merge it with pedophilia? -Will Beback 07:59, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

You'd have to present statistically significant scientific data correlating links between paedophilia and nepiophilia (and to make it clear, I'm not talking about actions here). None exists to my knowledge, while correlations between paedophilia and ephebophilia are far more well-documented on the other hand. -TlatoSMD 15:56, 6 Jun 2006 (CEST)
