From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Information Radio broadcasts on the 990AM band and is operated by the Foundation for Information Radio of Western Australia. It aims to provide equity through access to printed information for Western Australians with a print disability. Its free-to-air Radio Reading Service is available on 990 AM throughout the wider Perth metropolitan area, and to rural and remote areas nationally via the Optus Satellite.
Radio 6PM occupied this frequency until the 1980s, and hosted well known radio presenters such as John K Watts, Barry Martin, Lionel Yorke and Tim Flynn.
